Artist - Amit Kalla
Born in 1980 in Jaipur, Amit Kalla has done his masters in art & aesthetics from J.N.U, New Delhi. His work grows from his education in Ancient Indian art and aesthetics. He paint and write poetry blending elements of each into the other always exploring the deep forces which have created my culture and those which unite all of humanity.
His work practices are highly responsive to the environment they are produced in. His most recent solo show with a well known photographer explored the philosophical concept of The Seer and the Seen. He has traveled and worked collaboratively and spontaneously with a number of different artists across India.
In Amit’s words, “I feel different ways at different times-which yes I do face to face, sometimes in the shape of rainbow / sometimes it is semi-shadowed / sometimes a solitary chant / sometimes a magical hot hues/ sometimes faded expressions / sometimes contrasts, there is a certain Naivety in my painting style, but I use this as a non conformity to become more of an individualist using more imagination.”
